DIY Christmas Lights

Hello it's Jordan from Polkadot Prints with you. Thanks to Toni for having me here to share a little Christmas DIY with you today. I found these little string of battery operated fairy lights recently which are made to decorate your Christmas tree. I thought they would be cute on their own just spiffed up a little bit. So...lets get our craft on!



Here's what you'll need:

 1. Christmas wrapping paper

 2. Battery operated string of fairy lights {from Ikea's Christmas range}

 3. 2.25" Circle craft punch

 4. Washi Tape

 5. Scissors




From your wrapping paper, punch out the number of circles you will need for each bulb on your string of lights.

 


Gently bend each circle in half to opposite sides, to snip a cross hair in each circle, careful not to actually make too much of a crease. Turn over and poke the bulb through the slits.



Fold circle up and over bulb creating soft folds (try not to crease the folds).

 Take a piece of washi tape and starting on one end, wrap around the base of the bulb to secure the circle of paper to the light.



This is what each little light should look like.


Continue for each bulb until your string of lights is done. Turn it on...So pretty! You're ready to add some Christmas cheer to your bookshelf or mantle piece!

P.S I have also seen these plain strings of lights at Kmart and other department stores for a really reasonable price. Keep your eye out for the 'warm' bulbs rather than the 'cool' though...I think they look nicer!
